Royal Canal walk raises 20,000 euro for MS

Finte O’Broin are delighted to announce that this years charity Royal Canal Walk doubled the amount raised last year with an amazing 20,000 euro for MS Ireland.

The walk, which is organised by Edward Byrne and the Byrne family of Cloncurry and Kilcock takes place over the May bank holiday weekend. The walk starts at the family’s ancestoral home in Mullingar where Edward’s great, great, great grandfather James was a railway inspector in the late 1800s.

What is more amazing this year is that the walk took place over only two days, Saturday and Sunday, as opposed to the three days of the bank holiday last year.

The Byrne family were joined by over 250 people on the walk who raised money through sponsorship cards and bucket collections.

We congratulate all who took part and raised much needed funds for this very worthy cause.
