1. Tabley House in Leicester home to the Byrne, later Leicester, later Warren, later Leicester Baronetcy of Timoque in the Queens County was created in the Baronetage of England on the 17th of May 1671 for Gregory Byrne the son of Daniel a wealthy clothier. 2. Clonmore Castle in Carlow became home to the O’Byrnes when Hugh Gaengach O’Byrne was granted the lease to the castle by the Butler family in 1574.
This impressive ruin can be viewed easily from the roadside and is well worth a visit.
